In Maine, surveying presents many challenges whether the project is a large boundary survey or something as small as a Mortgage Loan Inspection (MLI) or the location of a monument. The rugged landscape, many lakes and streams, miles of coastline, and diverse weather, are as unpredictable as roulette and these years of experience come in handy.
Main-Land Surveyors have created topographic maps of lake bottoms with thier swim trunks on, located shoreline monuments from tippy canoes, set monuments in bedrock on the rocky bluffs of the coast, snowshoed to the tops of snowcovered mountains, and braved the black flies of cedar swamps.
Surprisingly, most of the team enjoys the small surveys the most since they can get the satisfaction of a job well done and a happy client, sometimes in less than one day’s work. They also enjoy the different places in Maine that they get to experience.
